Platform

Vision

Compendium is building a new information platform to displace existing general and niche information platforms which are widely used by consumers of the internet.

These platforms suffer from issues including (i) bias, (ii) information overload (bots and sybil challenges), (iii) misinformation, (iv) censorship, and (v) alterability (overwriting existing information).

The protocol will achieve this through:

  • Creation of a system and network enabling information creation and validation through blockchain technology, with the key precepts of immutability and non-censorship

  • Establishment of a new tokenized system which incentivizes human economic activity in the realm of information creation and validation, which has been absent in current information ecosystems

  • Entrenchment of a on-chain reputation system to align ecosystem participants towards the greatest possible extent of credible neutrality

Combined, these levers represent a new economic paradigm for user-generated information creation and validation, enabling fairer discovery within any domain of information. This is essential in an age of ever-expanding information and financialization, where discovery forms a key component of decisions which ultimately have growing economic consequences for individuals and groups.

Compendium as a Platform

Compendium refers to the general platform or 'grand encyclopedia' which contains an expanding number of 'Books'.

Each Book refers to a self-contained encyclopedic sub-platform dedicated to the particular domain or sub-domain of information.
