Blockchain-Enabled Historicity

Immutable Historicity of Information

Compendium utilizes blockchain technology to establish not only an immutable historical record of information, but also a record of the validation and verification of such information. This solves the problem of digital information tampering, alteration, and deletion, which are key contributors to misinformation in the digital age. The financialization of nearly all aspects of digital consumption is creating ever-increasing material costs tied to ever-expanding misinformation.

Centralized platforms for communication (e.g. X, Discord, Instagram, TikTok) have struggled to contain misinformation, and do not provide the means for users to validate information they are consuming on such platforms. Moreover, the ability of content creators and promoters to delete and alter information that had been previously communicated creates further challenges for users.

For example, users who have suffered financial loss by buying certain products or tokens due to information that had been provided at an earlier time might find themselves unable to seek recourse if such information has been deleted. Users would have had to take manual screenshots (which themselves are open to alteration) to provide proof, which also cannot be historically validated.

Placing such burdens on users and consumers is not only impractical, but also unfair. Compendium is intended as a systematic solution to such challenges, by establishing historical proof of information (whether facts, assertions, or debates) as well as the process of its validation and verification. As such, even if information may be subjective, users are able to refer to and digest the debate around such information, and come to their own conclusions.
